afaik the Indy Porsche program was a bust from the start.
At one point AJ Foyt fought it and helped to have the Porsche banned.

"Porsche's decision to enter the Indianapolis 500 race precipitated a political battle between other entrants and the rule makers. Despite previous assurances that the Porsche engine would be accepted, last-minute rule changes prevented driver Danny Ongais from qualifying. Interscope, owned by Ted Fields, and Porsche joined forces on this Indianapolis effort. Porsche provided the powerplant and Interscope modified an existing chassis to accept the new engine. The engine for this car, with a water-cooled head and six-cylinders, evolved from the Porsche 935 and 936 prototypes. The present-day 956/962C Group C engine, which had been so dominant at LeMans and elsewhere, was also developed from this model. Porsche withdrew the car and canceled its Indy program less than a month before the practice sessions were to begin. No one outside of the Porsche engineers, Ongais and the Interscope team ever saw the car on the track, but in testing at Ontario Motor Speedway (a duplicate of Indy), the car was said to have been spectacular, breaking numerous track records".

Wow! That's so cool. I used to have to work on fifty footers like that. They were usually based on something
exciting like a four speed 70' T, with their tiny iron brakes and four inch wheel spacers. I can still remember the
smell of polyester resin and burning Pennzoil, just like real race cars. And how can I forget the nanocephalic owners
clutching their racey little steering wheels and stubby phallus like shifters, just like real race car drivers.

so they were still 50 footers after you got done with them?  
A widebody on a Porsche is no ez job.
This one we saved..two others were so bad they went straight to the dump.
Many so called craftsmen out there...

Now if you think you have something comparable?
If you can drive and own a fast car I'd say bring it on...but only your keyboard is fast.

If you do find it lmk, it just came out so may take a few weeks to get over here.
The DRKC was a lot of fun. Rich Kimball, Hole family and Rick M and Frenchy in PHX were all very helpful and supportive of the concept.
A drag bug/cal bug takes a lot of nerve and luck to drag race at 12 flat or quicker.
The VW at half track with gusting crosswinds was a handful...then there was Art and I at SAC switching lanes at 100mph.
What a relief to find Art was OK. That is still the closest I have ever been to car to car contact.
Many memories from a lifetime of hot rod VWs. Imho VW and Porsche racing are both very exciting.

Rauh Welt tuning shop in Kashiwa City, Japan.  The owner, Nakai-san, has become the Porsche guru of Japan and creates a wide array of 911 track and street cars.  In a sushi bar you might here somebody say ”omakase,” which roughly translated means “leave it to you,” and it becomes the chef’s choice.  This often applies to the cars that are brought into Rauh Welt, as the customers will leave it up to Nakai-san and his crew to create the most fantastic Porsche for you.

The following of RWB cars (that’s what they are called, I have no idea what the “B” is for) is so strong that they often run their own track days that are filled with 911s.  Film maker Luke Huxham, who has produced a great film series on drifting, has turned his cameras and editing skill on one of the biggest Porsche meets in Japan.  Take a look to see some of the greatest Porsche machinery that Japan has to ofter.
