Cool show something for everybody.  Smiley

I first met and raced a cool dude named Ron Esau at the track, he passed away 2 months later.  Embarrassed

Last photo is of Ron and I on the podium, I was thrilled to finish 2nd to him.

Those are great pictures Mike! We know what happened to the red one (up to a point in the early 70s, anyway!), but I wonder what became of the blue AJ Foyt one?

Neil what happened to any of these cars?
Did someone keep one as raced in this IROC VW race?

Always thrilled when the 10 is accepted to Reunion!
This Reunion will have 40 GTO cars, no GTP in our race group.

"We are pleased to inform you that your 1988 Chevrolet Camaro has been accepted into the 2022 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Wednesday, August 17 through Saturday, August 20 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
On behalf of the Advisory Council, we are thrilled to be welcoming you to beautiful Monterey, California".

Smiley 917/30, 935 K4 and IMSA Camaro for IROC racing.
Couple of obvious ones...
Camaro #10 is mine.
The Sunoco Donahue 917/30 that destroyed Can Am.
The red 935 that Paul Newman drove to win Le Mans.

10 hour round trip 50 gallons of Diesel.
2 hours testing 30 gallons of VP 110 leaded.
New Project Mu brake pads provided incredible modulation confidence.
Added front rebound on shocks pinned the front end.
Perfect test.

Looking good!!

Thank you, it was a good test.
After the test had dinner went back to the hotel cleaned up and was not sleepy.
So pissed off my helper at 10:30pm and we packed up and headed home.
A little after midnight 2 hours after we left the hotel my buddy's Ram pick up was stolen, mine had been parked next to his truck.
Dodged a Bullitt there, cops said a truck theft ring was active in the area.

Not that it's a competition but here in London, UK your 30US gallons would have cost you $255!
Glad to see you're finally catching up to us Yurupeens  Wink Grin

Bringing Le Mans to WeatherTech raceway this year.
https://youtu.be/f2XZcFGIjjI
Anyone going to Reunion?

2 months before the Reunion at Laguna Seca and they already told me my pit pals.
I will be working out of Tom Gloy's Capri trailer again.
He brings every transmission replacement part I would ever need.
And next to us is Mike in this awesome Buick.
Can't wait to see the other 25 Historic spec IMSA GTO cars from 82 to 89.

Getting the 10 Camaro ready for Reunion.
Restored the engine area, in Historic racing no modifications allow that improve performance.
Must retain the same performance the car had when it raced in 88' and 89'.
