Hi Fabian,

I thought the same before the show. Le Bug Show without Spa? But I have to admit that the new location has also a cool atmosphere with the hangar and the 1/4 mile. The campground is fantastic, because it's all grass and the water can drain off, so it's not getting to muddy. The roads up to the location are really good, organisation is good - what more can you ask for?

Next year there will be more DFL members then just me, I promise you  Smiley
Cheers,

Georg

I liked the new location much more than the former one for reasons already mentioned.
Did I say that the 1/4 drag location was VERY good? A lot more room before the starting line and the possibility to drive back again after your run!!!!!!!! Outstanding!

Pity about some rain late saterday morning, but I managed one good run (the first one) and did a 11.997 which is amazing for me and a PB by over a hole second!
I do hope the time recording will be better next year with 0-60ft times, 1/8 mile times and speeds as now I only got an accurate (hope so at least) ET, while the end speeds seemed about 15-20 km/h off (too low).

Big thanks to Udo who helped me with my broken shifter and lended me his tools!

Fabs, I think you're the only one that not liked it, but luckily I also read it was only because of the good memories of the old location Wink Your pictures show it had great cars and I think you did enjoy it by the looks of it. I will definately go there next year!

Greets,
Walter

i heard by a member of the belgian vw club , may be it's the last  bug show , spa is too expensive now , and here , there isn't enought car like spa doing

georg it was my first impression , today i watch the new location  for me , i will put the show and shine at the big place behind the drag race , the campsite at the swap meet location , and the swap meet at the campsite location , to  return everything the same place  Wink

for me the atmosphere of the military base look like a little bitburg
 new pictures will come tonight

I talked to Jean-Marie and he said they need 1000 cars to break even - they had 900 by saturday around noon time. Saturday evening I heard they had already 1200 cars, so I guess there will be a Bug Show next year.

I really hope there is a Bug Show next year! I could not go this year as money was tight. But I also think that attendance would have been down as all the changes this year and the uncertainty. Not forgetting SCC was only last weekend so many people would have spent their money going to that. And EBI wasn't around when the last Bug Show at spa was on, so in a way there is more competition, But if the show gets a location and date set early in 2009 then I think the attendance will be up.
I know that if it stays at Brustem its will be good, I know the guys that went over for the King of Europe and prepped the track they said it was a good location!
Count me in for Bug Show 2009!

Rob.

My contact told me, this was probably the last Belgium Bug Show.
Reasen why it wasn't at Spa this year, next to financial reasons, was because there was only 1 weekend available, the week before de Belgium GP.

The Brustem 'Playground' costs even more than Spa they told me... Huh
