MH 215/65-15 DOT, Gasburners and short axles

Hi guys,
I will be using Gasburners with MH 215/65 on my 65 model this year but I do suspect that this combo will not fit without using spacers. I know that pelicanparts have a number of different spacers but do you guys know how big/wide spacer I need to clear the spring plate? And how wide will be too wide = rubber touching the fender? Also when I`m looking at the pictures of the spacer they do look a bit "small"... Will they give enough support behind the Burner?
Thanks!

Thanks JHU! I found these on the www.... Made of 6061 alu and very cheap compared to the ones Pelican is selling. 49,90 USD for a pair compared to 120 USD each from Pelican and the shipping is half price too.

BeetleBug, Jesus, why do you want to order the spacers in the US? You can get them easiely at CSP – I guess no matter if the are in Sweden or Germany. Less shipping cost, less tax, less stress...

Because it looks like their spacers will not work if you allready is using press-in studs. Judging from the pic ;

you will need extra long wheel bolt instead.
Or is this not correct?

Yeah, the shifter configurator is indeed great! I must have linked incorrectly, let`s hope this will help them sell more shifters at least...
This is the Porsche wheel adapter/spacer I found when I looked at the csp page;

Why not change to longer "press-in" studs? Well, its your call, I just hate adapters..

Gasburners with 235/60/15 MH on short axles and Type 3 brakes needed 15 mm spacers to be perfect (in my eyes).....with 215/65/15 the fitting is easier and should go on with a 10 mm spacer but the wheels has to sit right for a proper cal-look....it's all in the stance!!

Thanks SOB, just the answer I was looking for. I`m using Type 3 brakes as well. And I do agree, it`s all in the stance meaning that I should probably go for a spacer wider than 15mm to make my narrower tire look ok. May I ask what kind of spacer you use? Shelf made or bought?
I noticed that a lot of the spacer available is not hub centric and uses only the bolt or nuts to center the rim...?

I hyave converted to 5*130 pattern and have bolts 10.9 threded in from the backside of the hub. The hex head is still there and I have countersunked the holes for a flat support.The spacer is a supertight fit thing made on a CNC machine out of billet aluminum.....no "made in China copy and smile" compromise. No color on anything torqued together. I have the long bolt sticking out the maximum and Porsche aluminum nuts (13 gram each)........more then 600 runs on the combo!! Happiness is a Hot VW!!

BeetleBug, why don't you ask first one of the Porsche aftermarket parts dealer? I don't know if you have some in Norway (but I bet you have) but here in Germany we have tons of them. Just two of them:
http://www.m-freisinger.de/
-> Expensive, but got everything.
http://www.mittelmotor.de/
-> Also very good selection of aftermarket parts
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Georg

I have been in contact with one Norwegian Porsche dealer and they wanted 625 EUR for two 1" spacers
TUV certified but to be honest they could have every certificate in the world and I still would not have bought them for that price.
I will start with buying two from the us, including freight and tax they will cost just above 100 USD.
I appreciate your help Georg!

That is a REAL Porsche price! Crazy!
Good luck with the US parts anyway!

my friend runs gas burners with the M&H dot 215 tires on his 65 bug. it is on an irs pan so basically sits like long axles. he did not have to use spacers at all. if you need spacers i can get you laser cut aluminum spacers in 1/8", and 3/8" (pretty sure those are the sizes) i had to use the 1/8" size on my zwitter with th early 6" fuchs. i think they were around $75
i am in the usa so they would need to be mailed
