Great topic, Sarge!  I'd love to get to the GCVWS some day.  Seems like they have a great performance scene going up there, and some killer cars, to boot.

Hey Sarge,

We just finished the GCVW, a lot of fun but a a lot of work. We just added a new member at the show - look for it in hot vws and ultra soon. The rest of the gang are busy trying to go faster. Kroc was 11.90's at the drag night and Alan ran 12.06 right off the trailer.

Other than that the weather has been shite this year so...

alan is getting me a CD from this years show I'll post some soon

Thanks for the update, Rob!  Your show always looks like so much fun; wish I could have joined you.  We'll all be looking forward to some pics.  Some of our guys are headed to The Phoenix Club (a German club in Anaheim) for a small show tomorrow.  A good excuse to pound a few brews and tell lies to each other..., my kinda deal Roll Eyes Wink Grin

Lets clarify and say my sunny weather pumpgas daily driver only did a 12.05 that muggy hot night. Tow barred in rush hour traffic to the track  Wink my car is far from a trailer queen.

The crowd mocked me as I was running up against a Grand National. According to my friend in the stands he said people laughed at me as I was doing my burn out. They suddenly fell silent as I was 3 lengths ahead and growing down the track.

Not the grand national, but wheels up any how. Who's that on the sideline?

hey Stephan,

You can't really blame us for the fire... Grin

At least the fire department as close by and were good sport about it.

As for club right now I think we are at 15 members

Guys with cars on the road though

Geoff - 58 European sunroof hvws feature / 56 drag-street car / Porsche van hotvws - ultra and a couple more / built and then sold the Heb Rod
Lanny - 67 (yawn) too many features to count
Darren D - 55 sunroof - ultra vw  car of the year 2007
Darren K - Kroc - 66 nitrous - 11.50's hvws
Cameron - 67 (yawn) nitrous - not sure on the times for the new motor -2400 something but the old 1800 was fast - hotvws
Mirko - 54 in the 12's
Alan - 65 I think 11.90 pump gas daily driver
Gary - G dog - 67 (yawn) hotvws - ultra
Hanawa - 64 I think ghia
Gavin - sold the 56 and is now building a zwitter
Tom - the split and type 3
Gerry's - 56 - upcoming hotvws
Scott's - 64 hotvws
My 54 - 13.2 @ 102 through 3 gears

There have been other cars and members through the years - the Hulk being one that is now in Europe.

The club has been around since 96 - most of us have known each other since the early nighties or even late 80's. Too many stories from the early years when we were all building cars. Before the families started and the weekend in Seattle was the big draw. Camping, burnouts and the occasional broken go-ped... Shocked

Sarge you really have to make it up here - Bill, Stephan, Steve (ask me about the swing bike) Beacher, Deano and the HotVWs crew plus a bunch of Berg cruisers can vouch for the good times and I have a new stack of red cups with the DKP's name on them.
