Yeah, Danny.
Funny story about those.
When I was in sixth grade, my brother and i went to Mexico as part of an sister city exhchange between the city we grew up in (San Gabriel) and it's sister city in Mexico, Celaya, in Guanajuato. A goodwill gesture between countries and cities. It was a one week stay, a long time to be away from home without mom and dad..........beside the language difference and being chased around by the maids in these people's house.........
So, it is the last day and I am up at 5:00 a.m., bag packed and ready to go...........no one else up in the house. We are sleeping in their son's room, and he happened to have that very toy. Brown with yellow stripe. I was bored and started to fiddle with the car. Yep, fired that bad daddy up and woke the whole family. Scared the crap out of all of us! They were happy to take me back to the airport.

I just received this Cox Beetle. Now I am looking for parts, or a second car. Can you help? Are there any Cox-friends out there? Even in Europe?

Hey Helge what parts are you looking for?
Side note Cox Hobbies was headquartered in Santa Ana on Warner Ave. I remember my parents driving me down there to get parts for various airplanes and wheeled vehicles.

Got more infos about these toys ? The funny thing is that "cox" is the name we give to the beetle in french (it's the diminutive for "coccinelle").

Think I have posted this before but, imagine my initial surprise first time at Spa VW event trying to buy tickets from a woman in ticket office: "English? Oui, yes. You form England? Oh, Finland? Long way, you have your cox with you? I'll come to see your cox". Luckily I had read Super VW and was aware The word "cook" (chef) is equally bad for Swedes/Norwegians as the translation is "kock" and as the translation is too close a lot of them pronounce it the scandinavian way I cannot remember whom I heard it but, anyway, he was trying to same something nice about good meal in US and wanted to sent his regards to the cook..
