Sorry, forgot the camera again, but took an awesome drive from my place in Simi, out to old rural Moorpark, up through Balcolm Canyon Rd and north up to Santa Paula, and then hopped on SR 150 northwest up to Ojai, where I caught 33 north up into the forest. All the way from Simi, past Santa Paula it was "need your wipers" foggy, but then as I came around "Sulfur Corner" near Tomas Aquino College, the sun popped out. SR 150 has to be one of the prettiest roads in Southern Calif, a 16 mile curvy stretch from Hwy 126 to US 101 just south of Santa Barbara. I wanted to go see a creek that Sheep and I fished up off SR33, near the rock tunnels. The quiet morning air was perfect for the drive, the car thrived on it, and was urging me to push it and push it harder. The creek was still flowing almost as full as it was back in March, and still crystal clear. No fish (again)
. I took 33 back to 101 in Ventura, and zoomed east back home. This new motor sure likes the freeway, it just hums along over 4K, oil temp about 170F, and averaged 25mpg. But the real fun was coming up to 2nd gear corners, gearing down from 4th to 3rd and then click into 2nd, get some power on to get weight on rear tires, then open the Webers up wide, shift @ 6500.... there were some poor cyclists I think I deafened out there.
