next step go to the sandblaster to clean and remove the grease on the gearbox   Wink

I have industrial detergent and high pressure cleaner that will make some miracle to remove all the dirt on your gearbox.  Wink

If there is too much grease and dirt on, the sandblaster will have some problems because sand will stick in the grease.

Fabs, You ARE going to have the gearbox taken apart don't you ? (Because no matter how much maskingtape you put on it, the blasting medium WILL be IN your gearbox).

Fabs, maybe i sound stupid, but when you have the cover off i would water/chemical clean it again from the inside. It's the grit/sand you DON'T see..... Again, just to make sure. Cool

Hey buddy there is another cool little trick you can do - you should replace ALL the gearbox case nuts and washers with brand new items (maybe stainless Undecided) it just gives the gearbox a really nice detailed finish  Smiley
