Hi people, both this months volksworld and ultra vw feature old school rods with these wheels mounted. I personally think they look awesome - I think they are the ones on the front of lil snort - the reason I am posting is that on both of these rods, they are both hooked up to disc brakes, but I cant see how you could do it. Does anyone know how these mount - I always thought they were just spindle mounted and you couldnt run them with brakes. What do you think about a pair of these on the front and 5 spoke split rims on the back on a daily driver - would they be a proper old school combination, or is more for race only drag cars and rods?

I am sure I have seen replicas with usual lug holes, but a replica just wouldnt cut it!

Si.

Radir here in the US makes them with disc brake hookups.

American racing made the spindlemounts with hook-ups for brakes way back then to...
You bolt a MC brake directly to the rim...

Embarrassed I just sold my american racing spindlemounts...

thanks for the replies guys, does this mean that

1) Randar (Radir?) sell kits to mount the original spindle mounts, or the replicas with conventional bolt pattern.

2) I take it the original kits are impossible to get hold of, maybe someone like Taylors in the uk could make something. What in your opinion would a pair cost these days? I seem to recall seeing some about 6 months ago on ebay for around $350. Finally, excuse my ignorance, but whats an MC brake?
