Today I decided not to use the cableshift, instead I am gonna use a Porsche shifter. I had a Porsche shifter, shiftrod and tunnelpiece laying around, so why not use IT I used a 914 seat to find the wright position for the shifter. Before putting in the shiftrod, I had to remove all the pipes that where in the tunnel.

Today I found some time to work on the shift system again. First I turned the shiftstick, it was the wrong way around Then I made the piece of the shiftstick, that is under the hinge, longer. this way the shifting is shorter and the movement at the gearboxside is better. Then I made the shiftingrod at the wright length, last thing to do was; find the wright place/position of the shiftrod bush. The place of the shiftrod bush is essential with these sideshift gearboxes, it took me several attempts but it works

Because te tunnel was cut open pretty far, I took out all the pipes (there where more pipes in there then I thought) and then cleaned and painted the inside of the tunnel. I planned the new alu fuellines outside the tunnel, but I opened the tunnel to install the shiftrod and porsche shifter, so why not fit the fuellines inside the tunnel

After I remembered that I was gonna use an hydraulic clutch, I opened the tunnel again and placed the clutchline in it. Then I started closing the tunnel again and fit the shifter mount nicely.

Today I finally closed the tunnel for the last time (I hope). I welded back all the pieces I cut out a few weeks ago, finished the gearstick mount and closed the handbrake hole.

I wanted to install the fuelline bulkhead connections, so first I had to take out the gearbox, weld the "attheendofthechassis" plate further in the car and shorten it. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]
After that I could drill the holes and fit the bulkhead fittings. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

When I was working on the gearshifter, I reinstaled the (not used) heatingknob. After looking at this knob I thought ....I should do something with that. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] Here's the plan; use the knob for the emergency shutdown [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] I made a hole in the tunnel (again) and installed the emergency switch inside the tunnel. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] It's installed, working and the shifter has enough space [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] The screws will be replaced by little bolts, the knob will be engraved and there will be a cable attached (to the outside of the car). Paul.

And again a new hole [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] While the "oh shit" switch is in the tunnel, the cable from the battery has to go trough the tunnel as well [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] Paul.
