after welding and cooling it was time for some precision grinding it's almost straight, just needs a minimum of lead. Took me a few hours, but is's worth it. Paul.

Today I started fixing the left quarterpanel I couldn't find a good donor, so I had to make the best of it with the repro panels. First I shortend it. After taking some measurements from an original '54, I started hammering. Just needs a little massage Paul.

Getting closer to paint now Not really, its one step forward and two steps back at the moment. I started repairing the 1/4 panel, after adjusting the new sheetmetal, fitting 4 different fenders and adjusting the new sheetmetal again, it looks like I stepped one forward without stepping back Cheers Paul.

After some welding and grinding, i am very happy with the result I still had doubts about the home made steering and changed my mind. I am going for "rack n pinion". This Peugeot 404 steering will do the trick, the round couple rubber which is original for this Peugeot as well, even has the same bolt width Paul.

The left is ready, time to start on the right side. First clean the shop then turn the car and level it. I was very glad I was ready on the left, and now I can start all over again. DAMN this is a lot of work Paul.

First I tried to fit the door. As expected that didn't fit, not in a milion years. After a lot of thinking, pushing and stretching, it was time to use my hydraulic friend. Finally it fits like a glove. Paul.

The first attempt failed, so here's the second attempt of repairing the Right 1/4 panel. after some hammering and grinding. Hammering the oval shape in it. Starting to look original. Paul.

After the new sheetmetal was in shape, It was time to make "the notch" Made a notch and tacked it in place, it looks a bit odd but the shape is like the original. And again some trial fitting. Paul.
