Just got a new scanner, so messing around scanning in some transparencies (not good results yet). VW Jamboree 1988 (plus a pic from Bonneville for Russell!) Enjoy. Smiley

Boy did those photos from the Jamboree bring back memories.  We used to go to the Jamboree each year until we switched to the Classic.  The Jamboree went downhill and so we moved on...

I see in the background of one of the pics with Kris's car, Mark Deacon's old Scat dual motor Funny ghia.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like Jamboree,...what a hell of a show that used to be. My first was in 89 with the chopped M&M,...and man, it was packed!

Hey Pat - Jamboree, yes, but Red Rider, no. It was Cory Mac's MacAttack Ghia funny car. All I can remember of that day was very hot – and not many Cal Lookers!

I receive some picture of the Red Rider when it was still under construction. Maybe a stupit question, but I never saw a picture or feature of the running car. Was it ever finised, how fast is (was) it and where is it today? BTW have a look on the "young"  Dyno Don too.

aaahhhh...so refreshing looking at "younger shots" from years gone by...LOL      mark deacons red rider did make some exhibition runs(at a later date) with the dual engine set up but could never get the combo to work to his liking...always ran the best with the original kawell engine set up...low 10's?...I know the person who "inherited"the fast engine from a "personal debt" and had it enclosed in a custom made glass coffee table that graced his living room...sooo cool..!!

these shots were actually from Fremont, in Northern Calif. See the KFRC banner in the background? A pop-rock am station in the Bay Area in the 80's. I bought my first adjustable beam in the swap area at that show. $5.00
