my car is being welded in a few weeks, but really can't decide on what way to go...
i got a 67 decklid, pre 67 front clip, early rear wings, early bonnet... but it will never be a true 67!
or buy a correct post 68 front clip, and ive already got all the late panels...

IMHO keep it late I've done the whole wrongun thing and it could always be picked out (and pointed out by thoose who know Roll Eyes )  so better off keeping it late.

Anyway late models rock (unless it's an 02/03  Wink )

I'd say, if you haven't started the project, find yourself a '67 to start with. I did not follow my own advice and am sticking with my 69/ pseudo 67 Grin

If you want a '67, get one! But there is NOTHING wrong with a properly built late model!!

I have a 72 with a pre 67 look and yes, people that know can tell by little things it's fake...  Nobody appreciates it and a late looker is appreciated nowadays so I wouldn't fake it if I was you.  I spend my last $ on my fake project and it remains a piece of shit...  Undecided

I didn't "reweld" the car and i'm happy just renewing the front fenders. Go LATE.

Late mate - check Fastbrits post of Famous Picture from another angle for inspiration or verification that late models are cool when done properly.

I am also guilty of making a wrong'un. My first car - a September '67-built, '68-model - was turned into a US-spec '67 look-a-like 10 years ago. If I could do it all over again, I'd have kept it late and also restored the proper '67 I broke as a parts donor for it!
The '70's bug I've just finished had a semi-W lid, long rear valance, sloping headlamps, blade bumpers etc., but I put it right! Cheesy

Keep it late Tom, or move it on and buy a real '67.
