Bit of an odd question. My manifolds are drilled for nitrous jets but I'm not going to run nitrous straight away becase it scares the hell out of me and I want to get the car going straight first.
Would I be better off fitting the nitrous gear and jsut not filling the bottle or would it be better to block the holes in the manifold with some sort of blanking plug? I want to avoid any leaks in the induction.

NOS fogger nozzles use a 1/16 NPT thread. I would suggest a steel or brass plug over the above picture Al. plug. They strip faster than Paris Hilton.

Hello Ant, If you struggle to get steel or brass blankers you could always put a bit iof PTFE tap on the ally blankers. All the best Paul

Paul good thinking. I'm hoping that they will go in, stay there for a few runs and then I'll bolt the nitrous in when I stop being a girl about it.

The car ran 13s with the 1914 in it. This is 2443 so I'm interested to see what it does NA. The trouble with me is if the gas is there I will be too eager to get in switched on.

Hello Ant,
I tried to get the most I could out of the car first so that I could get a handle on how much the gas was actually worth. I would also say that if you get as much out of the car before you put the gas on ie, overall set up then when you put on the gas you are actually allready further down the road if you know what I mean.
The slower you develop the more you will pick up on the way, but being patient in a drag race is kinda hard LOL !!!

Paul, I know exactly what you mean. Trouble is the motor is built for gas as is the gearbox so I think there is going to be a big gap in performance. If I could get a 12 without the nitrous I'd be pleased.

That is a good point. I was thinking about saving some time so I could get the car out again but if I do that then I'll only have to tear it al down to fit the gas so I guess it will be quicker in the long run. You are right Bernie but the temptation would be difficult to resist
