Damn! I forget I built the car almost 20 years ago! Shocked

PS – you heard what Russell said: why aren't you working? Grin

Keith

Not us, what has time and lack of interest done to your car, we are now the doctors at work.... Yes Kevin does like a repair or two but nothing but the best for the old lady i can assure you.

I reckon you should come to aberdeen and get involved with the build up pics we can see how time has treated you since you appeared in CC with the car ! I must dig these out and add to this post...... I remember seeing you getting an award at some cruise night..... wow the hair, the flares, the shirt bet your glad times have moved on mate....

Progress not as quick as I`d like but hey - better than none! Roll Eyes

Spent ages setting all the gaps but eventually got the welder fired up, both front 1/4`s now mostly fitted with just the lower heater channel joins left to do once the body is off the floorpan.
The front panel is ready to go on now all the holes a `looker does`nt need have all been filled!

Would like an N.O.S. bonnet to complete the front if anyone knows of any?Huh?

Looks more like a fasty now that there`s more fresh steel than brown lace though.. Wink

Thanks Russell. Huh
The only front-end sheet metalwork done back then was by John Brewster to remove the badge mount and fill the unnecessary holes.

No problem Keith, as with all these trend setting cars they were built from the heart, no one ever thought they would be collected to keep forever..... by some daft scots men !

For the record, I was only fooling around with you, sorry.

Another day another picture Wink
I got a lot more done today than expected-how often does that happen??

Thats the front panel fitted now which pretty much completes the front end, just leaving fitting the strengthening gussets at the rear of the inner wings and some welding round the heater channels.
I got the body off the floorpan tonight which means I`ll get the final welding done tomorow.
If it all goes to plan the shell could be acid dipped & coated in the next couple of weeks which means I can see how much work is left in the rear half.
I`ve also made a dolly to move the shell around on.
The pan is stripped bare & will hopefully be blasted next week, theres a couple of minor repairs to be done to it then it`s off to the powder coaters.
I`ve got much more done in the last couple of months than I expected to, so the target is paint by christmas - watch this space Grin

More progress!!

The bodyshell came back from being acid dipped & etch primed this week & it looks a 1000000% better.
All the leftover repairs are visible & it did`nt turn out to be any worse than I expected (well not much anyway...)
This is`nt a cheap process but its money well spent as its the only way to really cure all those rusty bits.

I`m confident it can be in paint by christmas now Shocked

Well....the light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger & brighter Wink
I`ve finished all the repairs to the osr inner wing - bumper mount, air box bottom & the lower bulkhead where it meets the heater channel & fitted the outer sill.

Hopefully the `pan will be blasted in the next couple of weeks & it can be built up...

Pics to follow Grin
