I LOVE that motorcycle, Dave. Good to see someone that doesn't have chrome on their bike. It's SO overdone with 99.9% of 'em on the So Cal roads. I was working at a client's aerospace parts plant in Brea, the other day. While we were at lunch, I walked over to a gentleman who was a few people in front of us in line and asked him if the Harley outside was his. He said it was and I complimented him for having the bike devoid of chrome. ALL black! Looked SO good! He had just about everything powder coated. I hate Harleys but that was one tough lookin' bike that I'd gladly ride.

Seeing your bike makes me want to get the carb back on my 1966 Honda 300 Dream and ride it again, Dave.

I've had that bike for almost 21 years. Bought it in May of 1988. I buffed out the original factory black paint. I had my friend, Jim, straighten and repaint the previously wrecked front fender. Also removed the worthless aftermarket bling from the bike and replaced with factory mirrors, mufflers, pegs, and a few chrome acorn nuts throughout the bike. All factory from Lakewood Honda (back when they were in business). Also replaced the blackwall tires with whitewall n.o.s. ones. I took the carb off and Jim rebuilt it. Never got around to reinstalling it. D'OH!

If the bike weren't so original, I'd remove all of the chrome. That, or if I ever got a more up to date bike, there'd be zero chrome. More like Darth Vader... all black.

Good thing this is off topic Wink

I had no idea you had an Elvis Special! I had a 305 Scrambler myself at one time... Lets get that thing running!

I've only had the BSA a few months but it's a keeper... I like to ride it wearing my WWII steel army helmet. The Beezer is a 1945 WD M-20 500cc thumper- rebuilt in 1968 to what it looks like now. Thanks for noticing the BSA conforms to title 4 section A of the Cal-Look rule book regarding excess chrome. Roll Eyes

HAHA!! Funny, 'cause when I test rode the bike and bought it, I always referred to it as the Fonzie bike. For a '66, it sure looks like it's outta the '50s. Every time I ride the Dream, I get pulled over be just about every motorcycle fanatic... even Harley riders give me thumbs up and tell me that it's nice, even for a rice burner. HAHA!!

Yeah, your bike is VERY cool and uncommon, for sure. I gotta get out to your house and check out the toys. Oh... sorry, Sarge and everyone for high-jacking the thread subject. But since the pics with flares and Continental kit was posted, I figured it was fair game to attempt and give it some normal image content.

Hey Sarge, are you looking for suggestions?

How about louvers in da hood?

Anyone else?

It took me a several days to come up with any suggestions on such a nice, tasteful car Sarge has here... but here goes.

1) Fender skirts
2) Roof rack
3) Mud flaps (VW logo)
4) Spotlights
5) Headlight eyebrows

I feel you should consider these items Sarge so your car can truly become "Bomb Diggity"
