There is not enough alcohol in Newcastle. 3.7% WTF ,That's less than Bud Light
. I can't stomach more than 2, they're way too sweet and malty. Now give me a good India Pale Ale or Russian Imperial Stout and I'll make Picasso's work look like it was done by a monkey.
Good beer starts at 7%.
BTW PUI-ing.

Nwcastle from tap is light years better than from the bottles. Something aboout the clear glass I think. Not quite as horrid as a green bottled beer, but still has a whiff of skunkiness.
True, takes a few Newcastles to do anything. Try an Eye of the Hawk for some octane...

Funny that you mention the skunkiness in Newcastles, Jim. My friend's girlfriend always points that about the tall (22-24oz. ??) clear bottles. Once in awhile, I'll grab one of those on the way home to enjoy with my take-out dinner, after work. She's right; the talls have it, whereas the standard 12oz. bottles... not-so-much.
Weird.

Dunno, but that theory works for me. Anything is possible with clear bottles. The better biers are typically offered in dark brown glass. Very few green bottles have decent brews. I went through a brief Rolling Rock phase in the late '80s. When I'm in Mexico, I'll sometimes get the Dos Equis in the green bottles. There's really not too many others that I can think of worth mentioning.
Strange... those green bottles. They need to make ORANGE ones, dang it.
