Hi all
Just picked up a CB turbo / efi cb set up and I'm looking for some help with the engine spec..
I would like to use a pair of the JPM heads as I've been impressed with the cars running these and they seem to have more cooling area than most performance heads, but I'm looking for some help with rods, timing gears, compression ratio, cam, turbo size etc .
I have a 2276 with IDA's which was built for me in my bug and I'm real happy with. I'm told that this size of engine go together fairly easy, so I'm thinking of this sort of size engine again
It will be going into the ghia I've got and this will be fulll street weight plus cage. The ghia got irs out back so I'm looking to run a uprated bus box.
My goal would be to run a 11.99. What sort of hp and set up do I need for this.
I think the problem is going to be lack of grip as I'm limited to the size of wheel I can get out back.
Any tips or pointers for a turbo virgin

Ron ,look at what Mike lawless has done to his ghia regards fitting the slicks and a bus box here:

You would need to be looking at about 300hp to guarantee 11s,given the way turbo cars launch and you have to shift the thing.I have PM you some more

it should end up really drivable with sensible compression for english fuel and still run that with ease

i saw something like this where they took 1.5/8" from each side and fabed up some new shock mounts off the frame horns and then tied it together through the floor etc they go a 235 radial under a stock low light body using irs
Ps just put a bid on a fk45

2400 lbs, that's heavy! If it is 2400 lbs I agree, you would need around 300 hp to get into the 11's with some margin.

At 2400lbs is Ron going to fit in a Ghia?
Sounds like a nice project though Ron, and Mike Lawless' site is a vey interesting read. I've got it bookmarked at home...

Its alright Neil I'll have to start weight watchers, should be able to get the pounds off by the time the cars ready
