Jean-François Destrée. J-F is way shorter and easier to pronounce  26 years old. Live in Hotton, Belgium. Work in the family business. (Sell and deliver domestic fioul). This is a real good idea there Russell. I often get e-mails from unknown souls that do not sign there name. So when I reply back, how do you start, "Dear Dick Head?" It needs to be more personal. "Dear Mr. Dick Head." Sounds better.
I get thrashed on thesamba on a regular basis by some unknown, who hide behind the internet barrier and throws rocks my way. Nice.
Anyway, Dean Kirsten is aka "Deano", which has been my nickname since the Flintstones were new on TV.... even before Dean and Ken Lowry started their business devoted to fast VWs. When the DDS craze hit in '69, "deano" was back in vogue only now, with a lower case d. I had someone come up to me at the last Bug-In mixer, and ask if I was the real "deano", which certainly I am not! There can only be one Dean Lowry.
deano is cetainly easier to remember than Dean Kir....whatever his name is. So, I answer to deano without issue. But if you want your car in the magazine, it's Mr. Dick Head to you....

been into VW's all my life thanks to my Dad who used to take me to the shows in the UK when I was kee high to a grasshopper (old VW Action, concours events etc.). I remember sleeping in my dad's bug curled up behind the back seat listening to the engine! Got two great kids and an understanding wife who lets me play in the garage now & then!
