Family pets are great till they start to hurt, and get sick. My wife and i just had to put down our Scotty this weekend and was one of the hardest thing in my life to do. You never think of it when you get one, but that day comes, and it hit's you like a ton of bricks. So everybody get home a hug your pets today and enjoy them because time go's fast. We had our's almost 14 years and still not enough time  Cry

Hi Tony, sorry to hear the loss. Been there too many times, and no you never get over losing them. Had a little parakeet that I grew up with, he was 14 when he passed on to the birdbath in the sky. He was the coolest little buddy.... also had a basset hound for 13 years, she was part of our family (the only part I liked much!), hard to see her have to go too.... jeez it's been 14 years that she's been gone, and I still miss her.
My son has made friends with my oldest, and favorite cat, Mickey. I'm glad Mick's still kicking as good as new, as he really enjoys my kid too.

Best wishes buddy... they're thankful for the good lives we give them.

Why don't you post some photos of your Scotty as a memorial on this thread.

I feel your pain there , I lost one of my oldest friend's on friday last , my 19 year old cat Oliver . Had to have him put to sleep friday night as he was coming apart at the seams , it broke my heart to do but it had to be done , I've been it bits since . But the oddest thing is that my dog a 3 year old springer who always barked and growled at him has been sulking since .
You move on from these things but its not a pleasant time the loss of a loved pet .

Nice idea John, I think we all have a OLD FRIEND that we would like to share.

That's a hard thing to do... because most pets become part of the family structure. I've had many great dogs over the years, since I was born. They all enjoyed long, fun, and loving lifespans. All that you can do is hang onto the good memories and hopefully, you took some pictures and/or video of your beloved Scotty.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

My heart goes out to you also! We had to put our Springer down 2 years ago. The family is ready for another dog but I'm still not ready.
