Looks like keyboardist Billy Powell passed (story in today's obituaries LA Times) at a too early age of a heart attack.  A shame all the hardship this band has endured over the years.  My faves:  Call Me the Breeze and Sweet Home Alabama.  RIP Sad

Gary Rossington is the only original member still playing with the band now, unless you cound Ricky Medlocke who played some drums with them real early.

Where's Louis B?  They're like, his neighbors or somethin'.

Johnny Van Zant center and Donnie Van Zant on the far right a couple years ago when they were doing their solo stuff on FM country radio.  Somewhere in the pic is yours truly.  Young guy with the hair on the left is my brother, who played guitar with them for two years.  Nice contacts to have made.   Wink

Try searching for their live album Highway Song  Wink Along with UFO's Strangers in the Night it's one of the best live albums from late 70's/early 80's IMHO.

Sad deal... 48's way to young to check out; best to live it up while you can.
