Well after checking it out carefully i found nothing wrong so back together it went and i took it for a drive, weather was nice so perfect for roof down cruising Grin

I goes straight, under power, off power, and under boost Wink I am now 99.9% sure it was track conditions and some driver error, but not the car  Smiley

cheers richie,uk

And all joking aside, how would wheelie bars have helped? it didnt go that high and they dont stop it turning left or right?

Just watched it again a few times, it went pretty high but I really noticed how far to the left you were staged.

I do think your car would benefit from sissy sticks (also think you should be spooled) but true they probably wouldn't of stopped that hook. I think you had the left tire completely out of the groove.

Jason, yes after watching some more I thought I was to far left as well which was the main cause of it,over the years it has always pulled right, if not straight whcih suggested something changed

WOW! Scary!! Shocked
Is that track kind of narrow or is it just the wall that makes it look that way?

Bloody Hell Richie, I nearly shat myself just watching that! Don't think I'd want to be behind the wheel! Shocked Cheesy
Track does look very glossy though - if it was cold and has been raining a lot was there just some damp coming back up towards the surface?

Motor sounds ace too, and I like the valance! Dammit, I'm going to have to get myself over to America sometime soon to watch your car again! Smiley

Richie,

Did you decide to go back to Irwindale Thursday? The weather looks good!
I'd like to stop by on my way home from work and see your car run Wink

Oh yeah, I'll be happy to supply T.P. in the event of another wild run Shocked

What a wild ride that car must be... I'm with JHU, steering brakes might be a plus Grin

just watched the SCC dvd, have you thought about asking the tracks to have a slalom at the start, think this might give you an advantage Wink

Straight as you like Smiley  Had other issues, ran 6.41@107 first pass with only 2/3rds of the usual boost due to a intake hose clip coming loose, then more issues

Richie,

It was nice to meet you and Jo last night, and good to see your car in person.

On your first run just before the burn out, the Mopar guys I was standing next to made a wisecrack or two about VW's... The one guy has a 440 Duster or something like that... anyway, you could tell on your first pass your car had more to give... after your pass the guy was shaking his head, and his buddies were the first to tell him your car would smoke his race car! At this point, I had to mention your car was street legal too Grin   Gotta love it!

Give a call next time you need another "pusher" for the staging lanes Wink

Keep up the good work, and we'll see you around.

~DR.
