I wasn't too awestricken either.  Roll Eyes

Don't get me wrong, it is a nice car, but indeed nothing more. I really like Meslet, and all the designs he pencils down are super VW's, but that is exactly the strong point, it is only ink and paper, a real what if to ponder on and think about. It's a great recognition for Meslet's work

And the paint is awesome as is the finish, but it doesn't ring my bell. Sorry  Lips Sealed

Ok Guys this was the big secret, i saw this about a month ago and was blown away by the quality of the paint work by the paintbox, was also rather impressed that GhiaSteph wanted to build from the Super VW Impression of a cross Empi/DDS car, for me this is as worthy as any other gasser style homage and im delighted that people want to build there version of a period gasser, this all helps keep the gasser circus alive, very much like cal look, we all steel from previous ideas.

I thinks its slightly unfair to compare to KS's car as this was built way ahead of its time and was done with the empi theme in mind and if you think this went from a really fast cool car, to a black car, to a black car with green flames............

I would far rather see Pink Atomic change to DynoPincher and am glad it has.

Steph, well done on the VW top 20 award, well derserved.

see my other ramblings on VW post,  Wink

Yes Jon (hope you got home safe and that Sunday night went well after we went)
the headlight rims only arrived Friday at the Paintbox and Simon custom made the white ones
they have been fitted Saturday evening when the show closed for public

Hey Jelle you have to be inspired to make a real car out of a drawing by an artist (Pascal Meslet)
believe me , to make this car right took inspiration and a lot

I have a posterbook from the early nineties of Pascal's renderings, it would be great to see more of his work made into reality. If anyone can, it's going to be the PaintBox!

more of the car here: http://callookvw.skynetblogs.be/tag/1/volksworld%20show

Couldn't make it to Esher this year Undecided, so didn't see it with my own eyes, but what I can tell from the pictures, wow, great job, can't wait to see it in person.

Hopefully it runs as good as it looks. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree the DynoPincher winning the tropies, I just dream about the car combining the look with good E.T.s  like it combines the Inspiration of two Legends of Aircooled VW Drag Racing.

well i had the same feeling. BUT i think what lacks is striptime  Grin it just will need to make it's own history, get into the battle and have some scars (hopefully none too bad though) and build up a reputation for itself.
and apart from a couple things that need some change the car will do just fine.
