i have 225/65 on randars 64 bug with short axles.empi 5 spokes work well also.

Dude, you have short axles.

I would stick to a 205 if I were you. If you call Sam he has my wheels & tyres at the mo and he'll be able to tell you what they are. They fit very well and are about as big as you could want. I'm sure they're a 205/70.

And the bigger the tyre, the more grip and therefore chance of breaking something. To be completely honest, I don't even like 205/70s - they're just too big. It's the one thing on modern cal lookers that I don't like. I wish someone made an affordable, period looking 185/70 - that would fill the arches but still be reasonably sized to look right with a 145 up front, and it's only 1/8" smaller diameter than a stock 165.
