correct back height

You can say to me if my back height seems to be correct , according to certain images of original vw   , the height seems correct, what do you think of it

yes but whith a 1200 model there's a little positve camber
 and maybe the car will down after some km drive

I would drive it a bit and see if it settles a little. If not, then I would drop it another inch, or put some tires with a proper sidewall on there.

Can't say anything as long as it's not settled yet. But the end result should be a bit lower IMO.

yes  but i'm not sure that the rear will drop a little, here's a picture with the empi 5 and the brigdestone 215/65 and he look like the same with my new cinturato 185/75

I covet your decklid every time i see that shot. I think you have more gap now than in that pic. But I will be honest, I like my gap to be the same, front and back.

Hi Fabs I think it needs to be at least 1 inch lower front and back  this Ragtop and oval sit perfect in the rear it has a little space but it has 165's I like the cars Lowered even with the top of the tire no space in between

I think you need to drive it before you finally decide dude BUT here's a little tip that I did on the manx as that has NO weight either 

You see if you leave a manx at stock height it tends to have ALOT of positive camber, So to get rid of this and still keep nice and high what I did was first LOWER each side by 2 OUTER splines then RAISE them again by 2 INNER splines, Now this may sound alittle strange BUT it gives you an almost stock height WITHOUT the positive camber

I have heard of people doing this on Bugs too BUT they tend to go for 4 inner/outer splines.

Loved the look, but raised it back to stock height because it was impossible to do a good launch at the track because of the car squatting = too much negative camber = no traction.

Edit: Note that these are BIG tires, about 215/70. The gap between tire and fender would of course be bigger with Speedwells smaller tires.

Fabian, 215/70 is a 1" taller tire than a 185/5. (215/70 = 27"). Wich means the space between fender and tire would be 1/2" less if you put 215/70 on your car.
215/65 is as tall as 185/75(26"). I notice a BIG difference when I put on my 26" slicks.

it needs to drop a bit more. but look at it when you have driven the car. it may settle one inch lower after that. that would be perfect. i see you showed pics off deano's car and as beautifull as it is, it had an ugly gap at the back IMHO. way too much space even if it was stock hight.

i think you have 185/70 tires and that is about the same as what i have and 165/80, but don't count on it to be exacltly the same as it can differ quite a lot from brand to brand. uniroyal 165's are a lot lower then firestone 165's.

thanks for putting up the picture off the sepia brown one with the brown BRM's, but i think it is on jackstands or so... very beautifull car though.

Fabs,like the most have said,drive it for a while and see  how the height is then.You can correct afterwards.
