Shocking News...

I never met the guy but allways had my little secret Top 20 competition going on with a fellow TYP IV racer,
here on the Lounge and Cal-Look com.

He must have been some "crazy" guy to stand up against all the TYP I Racers.
R.I.P. Sven and may the we meet sometime in TYP IV Heaven.

MY deepest sympathy for family and friends.

 Cry

I couldn't believe it... it is really, really sad to hear about this...

Being a newbie my encounters with Sven-Olof hasn't been that many apart from a few e-mails which were always positive and encouraging!!

I've always had the outmost respect for his ideas and knowledge, his comments on various vw-forums and his stories always put a great smile on my face and has spured me in my interest for Hot Vws... I will really miss SOBs contributions to the scene and his, at times, excentric posts on various forums (Lucas headlamps and +/- earth - is one of the latest on S.C.L.F...)

Sven-Olof will surely be missed throughout the international Hot Vw-scene!  Cry

R.I.P SOB and my condoleances to the family...

Happiness is a Hot Vw!!

I will really miss your stories around the campfire at Bug Run.

It's been said before but RIP Sven-Olof. He didn't just think outside the box but gave the box a damn good kicking before doing a mighty burnout on it in a VW with RAW F*CKING HORSEPOWER! Keep doing it your own way wherever you are, Sven.

Another one of the big names we all look up to gone.  I used to love reading Sven's posts because it was always obvious that he really had a great time doing his thing.  And if you're not having a great time, what's the point?

Condolences to family and friends.

I was told a couple of days ago but couldnt bring myself to be the first one to post,I just couldnt/wouldnt believe it was true Sad
I met Sven through the CLF and became good friends,he was an akward stubborn man Cheesy,
S.O.B. seemed such a perfect title for him,
his love fo trying something different always interested me,any he always seemed to stick to his beliefs even if that meant a much more difficult route was taking,we could never agree on the whole T4/T1 thing and I respected him for that,we only met a few times and i will now cherish the time we spent at EBI last year drinking english tea Smiley and discussing how to save the planet Smiley
He was a great character in the VW scene and will be genuinely missed by us all Sad

Rest in peace my friend Cry

Like everyone else I loved reading his posts here and on the CLF and will miss them greatly. I think the only time I met him he had a huge grin and was full flow in conversation with someone presumambly about Raw Fucking Horsepower or something related and before someone said his name I figured out who he was. One of those guys who lit this hobby up, a lot.

 Smiley

The fact he isn't with us anymore hasn't left my head since I heard the news and he was at the most an aquaintance, some people really make an impression on you. My thoughts and sypmpathy go to those that knew him well, his family and friends.

I have finally realized that he will not call me out of the blue and ask me what and how I was doing. I first met Brorsson at bug run in 94 or 95 or even 93. Anyway he was at Bug Run with his -59 with the type four for the first time. We had our tents next to each other. I thought he was a cof,he spent all evening trying to get his IDA to work on all four cylinders. At the time I was a true vintage freak, you know kamas bolts and the whole schebang. After meeting Sven-olof I was hooked. That summer I went to California and picked up parts for my first real Hi-po engine. We gradually got to know each other though we often had different oppinions on technical matters but we never let that interfere with our fascination with a hot VW-engine.Just having him as a ballplank for ideas was such a comfort and we both shared the thrill of using our imagination for trying new ideas outside the box. I remember telling him about a motor I built in 7hours without checking anything and it ran perfect and took us to Belgium and back. He said follow your gut feeling and learn from experience. Looking at him in some pictures posted on this forum he looks more like a Swedish fellow that goes on camperholidays to some dance gigs in northen Sweden, but I know for sure there is no one more hardcore streetracer in Sweden than Sven -olof But at the same time he had total dedication to his family and giving his boys the best. We often talked about setting your own level and limitations not to let racing get out of hand. Through the years he has given a lot of people inspiration and advice and the loss to the VW-comunity in Scandinavia is imense but somehowe I feel that I have suffered an even bigger loss. In all respect that is nothing compared to the loss for Mia and Adrian and Benjamin. My thoughts are with you in this difficult times and if there are anything I can do ,Please call me.

Whoo, thats not ok.

Never met him but read a lot of his posts on different forums.
Loved his car.
Kinda have a copy of his car, loved that colour with burners.(only mine is a late model).
And strong, very strong street power..So the typ 4 with typ 1 cooling is in the making for my car.

God speed.
