I don't know how I missed this, I have walked the showgrounds back and forth, but no, didn't see this boxed god-awfull monstrosity. A shame I didn't, I would love to have such a rare beast.

Been helping my friend Ben Lewis with his car... Sorry, Fred, I don't think you'll approve, but it is fun! Australian Country Buggy on full-restored chassis, 1720cc Porsche 912 motor... Who cares if I don't approve... it's actually a cool car. Only thing I'd change are change the wheels back to their factory anodized finish and give the body a more proper Cal Look stance. The engine looks GREAT! If I could fit those air cleaners under my '67 Beetle decklid, I'd run 'em.
Thanks for sharing, Keith. Looks like a fun weekend car.
