 Hi Guys,

I'm looking for safety belts for my bug, but I don't know what type is suited for our bugs?
I prefer SIMPSON belts. Can you tell me what to pay attention to when buying the belts so I can be sure I have a set of correct ones?
Or at least a pair that's gonna fit..

 Cheers... Wink

Hello Jordy
you can choose out of two styles: roll bar mount (short shoulders) and floor mount (long shoulders).
Check out these links:

Roll bar mount

Or you can choose for the lap belt from Simpson ... and I think this type would be nicer on your car.

I already have 3-point safety belts in my bug. (just the normal type for daily cruising)
So I won't really need 'em, but I think they look cool and I wanted to know what to look for when I come across a set...

i was just wondering where you guys have mounted the 4-point harnesses...
and not the roll cage versions.

do you mount the far end in between the rear seat?

like this one, i can't really see where it goes...

The one one the picture is less safe than a 3 point stock type belt. In a head on collision the set will fold forward and your head will hit your steering wheel. The upper mount should be at shoulder level. Put a bar behind the rear seat and attach it there.

worse than a stock 3 point belt? wow  Undecided

could you also attach it somewhere without having to add roll cages or extra bars?

Hi Diederick,
I got also a Simpson 4 point belt.
And I put it under my backseat, between de seat and the back.
And that works good. Tongue

There is a reason why the drag racing rules say shoulder to 4" below. Go by the rules, be safe and be able to race at all race tracks.
