thanks. i will let you know. i am going to take the car for a spin today and see if the problem is solved.
i found that the distributor body sent sparks to the case when i set the timing
i have no idea how that is possible, but it did. so i will try to set up another distributor and go from there, then the carbs again if the problem still persists.
it is always these things that create the holdup and hassle. i should really just cut through the chase and buy new parts and not try to salvage a set off carbs that have been sitting in a shop or on an engine for 30 years.
maybe i need to fit your 36's fabs
