I hadn't forgotten, just waiting my time to give a reasoned reply! Wink
After using the torque bar on the strip (albeit for a crap time Embarrassed) and on the road I can report an almost 100% reduction in wheel hop.  It's just amazing!  Still get plenty of wheel spin (if you want it) but the rear of the car now stays in contact with the road and drives better than ever.  Just ask if you want to know anything else.

More updates if your not getting bored of it Wink

Just spent the weekend at the Pod for Bug Jam 23.  Weather was not up to much but got a full day on the strip saturday with a good 12 runs in total  Grin. Now as far as is possible with treads on the car I can definately say that the CSP set up works a treat, both at the burnout box (as much as you need to with treads!) and under power up the track.  No noticeable wheel hop at all Smiley

Even tho my car is pretty fat with full interior etc.. I was fairly chuffed to run a 14.2 second pass at 92mph  Grin Grin Grin

Oh, I also picked up the Best Cal Look award in the show n shine too  Cool

Not that I like to blow my own trumpet or anything!

Thats mighty kind of yer mate.  We did just survive by the skin of our teeth.  Think it took an hour to get back to the tent Huh  Maybe we should stick to the potato wine next time, I'm a bit out of practice for the stronger stuff Shocked  But don't worry, it takes more than that to scare us off.  Just give us plenty of notice before you come to cornwall...we might go out for the day Cheesy Cheesy

After drinking too many cups of tea, me, Gyles and the Fonz decided it would be a good idea to hook up a pair of Firestone Wide Oval tyres to Gyles' spare pair of Ercos. All it needs now is a pair of short axles and it's the daddy! What do you guys think?

now what's your  Tongue

Used to run a motor like that, back in the day.  Marina Blue and Neon Pink - just class Grin

OK OK,here it comes.  Sticking to the same basic cc and crankcase but slipping in an FK87 cam.  Gone are the super D heads to be replaced with some Ultra Mag plus 44x37 ones.  The only part I was unsure about, because they drove so nice on the street, was swapping my 45DRLA's for some 48IDA's.  But they are gonna look the tits as they will be atop some empi big beef manifolds hand polished by the Fonz himself. Cheesy

I am addressing some tranny problems too and am fitting rhino 'box mounts and a big fat h/d mid mount.

Still need to sort out some slicks tho.

Now you show me yours! Wink

The plans sound great Mark, it should really rip with the change in cam & heads.

Yeah, I was waiting for a comment like that.  Cheers Muffler. Roll Eyes

OK, so I am open to advice here.  I want to blast it up the strip, but I also drive the car a fair bit on the street.  Can anyone report on how an 89 or 87 drives street and strip?

Yippee! Gyles now has new heads, with Kahuna valves, but is still indecisive about cams. Go for the chest wig and medallion, or settle for the excellent all-round FK87? What do you reckon folks? Muffler Mart?
