We just had a wonderful weekend at ddd7.
500 km and numerous runs on both days.
Best was a 15.25
This is a new personal best and it sure isn't the end of the story.

Congrats guys!
And thanks again for the advice about lowering tire pressure...
worked a charm, no more spin ... and a destroyed gearbox

on the bright side, you we're wondering what to change first to go faster next year, that would be the gearbox now.
all kidding aside, I hope you can drive again soon.

we're still running a standard camshaft.
Now a new one is needed and I thinking what would suit the engine better.
A bit more lift, same duration and bigger lobe center....
Anybody knows something like that or do I have to have a custom one made?
any help appreciated.
How fast can a 1200cc engine go....?
I think an original 1600 cam would be good . I have a Pauter cam that i use for 1600 engines with original carburator smaller than W100..

I've also been advised towards the standard wbx camshaft with solid lifters. What do you think about this udo?

The WBX cam is designed for hydraulik lifters , but i know some people using it for a one carburator engine with solid lifters . I would go with a Pauter cam..

so, plans for 2010 have been made.
There was a tapping sound in the bottem end which was already our second bottem end. Wanting to keep it 1200 was the plan but building a bombproof bottem end would take some time, experimenting and money so following our credo, go fast with the least amount of money we looked in our pile of used parts.
A Wbx has joined this pile this year. We'll be taking the bottem end of the 1900, making it aircooled. That way we have the strongest bottemend vw ever made.
To that we add the 77 cilinders , rods and heads of a 1300. This gives us a 1300, 100 cc more so the turbosystem can be reused as we don't feel like making an other one just yet. This setup is very expandable towards futere years. bore can go the 4 inch and stroke to.... We'll probably not push it that far but the option is there.
The plan is to keep the car roadlegal to so we'll be able to drive it everywhere.
My goal for next year is low 14's, that should put the bad bitch on the map.
happy wrenching everybody and see you in the summer

Thanks stian,
You'll be able to see it @ the scandinavian callook classic. I had lots of fun last year but it sucked not being able to race.
This year we'll drive over there and see how fast the fastest track of europe will make our car.
see you at scc

Added the intercooler /spoiler this week, waterinjection is made to work better to, this should get temperatures under control.
Wbx case is appart and partialy cleaned, ready to be machined.
Waiting on cam and lifters now to start working on the lifter bores.
One of the next things will be electronic controlled twin spark.

So I told you guys we we're going oxyboxer. Here are the first pictures.
Case registers are reduced by rings to fit type 1 jugs and threads in case have been moved to fit type 1 heads.
In this case it will be 77 mm cilinders and 1300dp heads with twin plugs. The crank will be 69mm from 1900 wbx.

Coil on plug seemed nice to have. been thinking about something else too. Wont be nissan but other make. I'll post a picture when I'm done with the idea.
We had a massive lpg backfire and blew most of the system. Now busy with the oxyboxer. The engine will probably get bigger then a 1300 but we're still gatering cheap parts.
We decided to think it through this time and make it work reliably for the future. Got me a new camera so I'll be able to take some pictures and post them.
