Beth, Nick's Cruise Night is hosted by Der Kleiner Panzers and they're usually every first Sunday evening. Except for Bug-In and The Classic, because those events take place on Sundays, so Cruise Night gets moved to Friday.

The '66 looked nice when you pulled in. Leave the car alone... it looks nice. Unless, of course, you want to bring down the nose, add some nice alloy wheels, a cool steering wheel, and a huge engine. Either way, nice car. I had my original steering wheel too, up until a week ago. Nothing wrong with a stock wheel. To each their own. Lisa's Split had a nice two spoke that was painted Corvette Yellow to match, remember?

Fred,  I am supprised that my dad let me put a stereo in the bug...  I want to lower the front and oh yah a much bigger engine...  My boat had all that power and I feel like the Flinstones in the bug.  I know Dylan's car is always going to be slow but thats another story.  I miss my speed, the power of an engine...  Oh boy I am going over the edge again...

Geeeeeeez Fred, How do you remember this stuff?  I loved my steering wheel on the split. 

I'm quite sure that little red bug that Beth is talking about is staying "as-is".  My Dad has been trying to sell it from what I hear.  I thought it might show up at Bug-In with a For Sale sign but it never showed.

Hee! Hee! You don't remember me very well, Lisa. I'm all about the details. Blame my parents... they were very detail minded and kept everything spotless. Besides, back in an era when everyone had to have an aftermarket steering wheel, I always admired the fact that you opted to retain the original bat wing two spoke one. Then, took it to the next level and color matched it to your car. You were years ahead of the crowd with that stuff. I see people doing that now.

That's what I always dug about our club; the full throttle diversity of us all and we had the cars to back it up. But, wait... we've hi-jacked Steve's thread. Back to you, Steve. Any pics of your current rides that you'd like to share? There's one in particular (coughORANGEcough) that I'd love to see.

Hey I just found this while searching around on the Lounge.  Did you know that your car was in a French Magazine Too?  This is from a post by my new friend Nico in France.  I found it under the thread "what did you score at the swap-meet" or something like that.  What a hoot  Cheesy

I opened the garage door to let some light on it and took a picture.  the sun is out today so i will take it out and take a few pictures.  I will take it out to day and take some photos. 
Just a driver, little 1776 kadron motor, I will trailer it down for the classic.

Looks naked without stickers...

The oval will take care of my need for speed.  My goal is to be running it by next spring.

OMG Nico!!  You are such a sweetie  Kiss  I can't wait for the package to arrive!!!  Steve, that's my new friend Nico from France that I was telling you about. 

The Vert is so pretty!!  I can't wait to see her.  Do you have any older pics from the first time you went through it.  I think you said that you did it in Black.  Post some more!!!!  Oh, I could just kick myself for selling you that car.    

BTW, that was Manny's 53 that you saw at Bug-In.  Here is a cut & paste of Fred's photo.

The other is when the car was black.

I don't have a ton of pictures, I can't wait for the classic to rummage though everyones pics..

My God, Steve... it looks GREAT in black! Best color EVER for a car. But I wouldn't want to keep one maintained. Too much work. Sure looks good, though.

Black was nice once I was taught the corn starch trick...   Orange is cool in the summer sun and easy to maintain.

Well, it's like this...  I have been out of this for a long time.  I have greatest memories of the days running with the club. The best...   I remember lots of the people but not most of the cars.  I know I know...  Shame on me. There have been a few years and a few margaritas between then and now.  I am really looking forward to getting together in June. 
So yes, I remember Kevin... I remember he had a vert ghia.  I assume this is not it Huh  Duh...

At bug in I felt like The Lost Boys trying to recognize Peter Pan in Robin Williams.  We have all changed a little in the last 27 years. (except Lisa)
