yes and the LEE Leighton car was the Steve Tims/ Eric Ballard Save a Bug car also so we are both right.  But it was the most recently the save a bug car.   but none of that is important... I just want to see pics of the record holding SS/CC 67' Wink

I think it's about time Russell set up a Gasser museum - preferably down here in Cornwall, so that I could stumble out of bed on a Sunday morning and have a good perv Cool. Greetings, matt

Seconded, but it should be based in the midlans, preferably North Staffordshire...

 Wink

On a serious note, a museum WOULD be awesome, and I'm near Aberdeen often enough to make a regular pilgrimage...

Come on Russell, any plans for an open museum?

Unlikely we'll go that route as the car was only run like that for one or two meetings before being outlawed by NHRA. The car was thus converted to a soft top and had the windshield frame chopped at the same time, plus new decklid etc. Darrell says it was a real pain to work on the engine with the hardtop, too. The car also had major chassis changes post-hardtop, so would be more correct to restore to chopped soft top spec. Also, the current soft top is the original custom-made one for the car from back in the day. Wink

Fair point... It's a shame though, the car looked so damn good with the fastback roof!!
