I did some work on an old SuperVee motor a while back. It represented "state of the art" back in the early days.
It was an 85.5 X 82 SPG (un-pinned). Solex 40-P11 carbs on Gene Services manioflds. Stock valved heads with (what we call today) a mild port job and single high rev springs.
The cam had some super high duration # (can't remember exactly), but lifted less than .400".
Motor was amazingly snappy for such a long duration cam.
Somehow, the smaller valve heads have a "de-tuning" affect on the cams manners.
I know this motor, and can attest that it is a hoot to drive. Very cool!
