UK DRAG DAY

A big thanks to everyone for working so hard getting your cars out to the track and to everyone who chipped in along the way to help.
The weekend was awesome, and even though the weather did kick us in the nuts it was a real buzz to see so many real performance aircooled cars there.
One last thing, could all racers interested in receiving information regarding the 'Rennwagens/JG54/ACE Invitational Round 2' later this year please drop a line to
drag-day@live.co.uk
and you will be sent relevant information regarding the day (NO junk mail!).
Again, thanks to you all, we hope you enjoyed it.

And on a personal note I would like to say the spirit of camraderie in the pits was second to none. I turned up with a car that was far from running well and left with one broke (hahah, but thats another story!). BUT before I broke it on the startline it had been trasnformed from a dog to something that actually ended up running pretty well.
Big Thanks to Martin who was an absolute star never afraid to muck in (and also take the piss!), also for keeping me dry over the weekend in the tent, to Daz from Aircooled performance and Donkers for the great advice, to Leec and his Dad for helping me so much, they really got stuck in, to Pete for helping me with the wiring and ribbing me into not giving up, big bro Mark for heading home while on the way to the Pod to bring me his turbo setup in case bits of mine were playing up and lastly to my bro Lee for... well most of it!
THANK YOU.
it wouldn't have been here \/ \/ \/ without you. Shame it only lasted about 1.5 seconds....

Congratulations to all involved!
Sorry the weather didn't behave itself better, but it still sounds like everyone had fun! Anyone got a list of times?

Cheers Keith, we'll sort through the list of times it and get one posted up. Not very good conditions unfortunately, very slippy off the startline and quite blustery too.... but the one thing we could never control was the weather and we just had to go with a date, thats the way it goes in the UK unfortunately.
How's your acupuncture go? If I'd known I would have brought some pins and asked you to head down to the Pod anyway hehehe...

I ran a new PB of 13.7 launching at 2500 rpm. The last run involved a rolling second gear burnout and launching at 4000 rpm, no traction off the line and a 13.9 qtr, but I crossed the line at 103mph
There's a lot more to come I think

As a former drag virgin I had a wicked weekend, even though the weather was not with us. But it's all about being one happy vw family anyway aint it
Big thanks to everyone who organised the drag day, put me down for the next one
Thanks to Leec and his old man for feeding me and mat on saturday night. More planning with my rations needed for next year me thinks
Heres to some runs in the 14's next time

to be honest it all got a bit sketchy around the beer and curry incident
can't recall much after.
it must have been the homebrew that did that
powerful stuff. Good work beer brewing fella
