While looking for pictures of Marc's Split, I can across a small assortment of Bug-In photos from 1975ish...

The photo is a car created by Shakey (Chuck Babbit) Jake who was a local retired fireman and a great pin striper.  The photo doesn't show it, but this car has a rear split window and many other interesting features.

Shakey use to frequent the Costa Mesa Auto Haus and we became good friends.  He actually striped my Butternutt car inside the Costa Mesa store.  I had him do a single stripe at the location where the side trim originally was.  The strip was only about one shade darker than the original color as I wanted it very suttle.  Unlike some cars of the era I didn't want to go over the top.

Chuck passed away many years ago now at a realitive young age of cancer.  He was a good guy and I miss him as I'm sure many of you who knew him do.

As I remember the Aronson 356 it had a large 411 type motor and even air conditioning in typical Aronson fashion.

Amen!  I have been saying this for a couple years and like you, I would run them except I have the bumper holes in my car.  I keep trying to get Chuck Fryer to run them.
Hey Eric, I will take those buggy bumpers off your hands dude!

Yes, and I think that red 911 in the back ground is Darrell Vittone's...
That red 911 is a short wheelbase car and Darrell's was a long wheelbase car.  Great pics Deano!
The metallic orange car appears to be the one that Pat Ganahl  (Rod&Custom/Rodders Journal) drove for several years.
Whos black oval was that?  How can all of these cars be MIA now???

There's a lake up in the Riverside area that has been used for years. That is where many of the Empi catalog photos were taken as well. I used it on Hobi's car back in '77.... Not sure of the name... Sarge?
