I've had turn signals on top of my fenders since I got my drivers license. But this whole thing is new to me.

Fabian, just like Sarge's car... it'll look great either way. I've had t-bars, straight blades, with Euro over riders, and full U.S. bumpers. It's all good and depends on whatever mood you're in. That's the beauty of Cal Look... there are no rules but to simply have fun with your car.

I agree with Mark.  No rules; it's all about what suits you.  I've still got my bumpers bagged up in the rafters and there's been times I wish I'd not sold the chromies and caps.  Being different from the crowd can be fun if it's done tastefully.

I like buggy bars, too... so long as they're on a... cough... buggy Wink Wink

Or no bumpers at all?

That's the way it used to be back in the day.... too bad the cops gave us hell for doing it and we were pressured into some other (t-bars / buggy) kind of bumpers.  Nowadays, I bet you could get away with no bumpers at all... too many other more important things to keep law enforcement occupied.  Go for it! Both look great!  Although the weight of the bumper may take some of the positive camber out of the rear....  =P  =P  Wink

I like the bumpers. Seems like these things are cyclical.... one guy goes "back" to T bars, or bumpers or whatever, and it's a fresh change (?).... moldings in the early '90's, Gary Berg running full US bumpers on the blue car in '89, the T bar craze of 1999 or so, etc....

chrome 356 wheels are going to be the next "new wave" right? Roll Eyes

Fabs,

Your car looks great either way.

Over the years, I've run plain blades, full U.S. spec, European spec, EMPI bumpers, buggy bumpers, nerf bars, early T bars, late T bars, late Meaican bumpers, home made bumpers, no bumpers at all, etc, etc.

Bottom line... run what makes you happy. (even if it's only temporary Cheesy)

Or what you could do Fab is leave the bumpers on and take the motor out. Then put a 2387cc ida motor in it place with all this extra weight it would like a Resto Cal. Cheesy Grin

Not the buggy bumpers.... that would be like painting a mohawk on the Mona Lisa! IMO of course.

On my car, I ran both. I liked the protection of the bumpers and the way that the horizontal lines visually lowered the car and I liked the smoothness  and minimalism of the nerfs. I would change them back and forth though most pics are with the bumpers on it.
