Is that a 400f..those seem like they would be heavy. nice tail light BTW
Yep, 76 CB400f. It's pretty light and small, a friend of mine has a 500 and that looks allready much bigger.
And the tail-light is not the only VW-item on it, there's another one...

My Uncle Ricks 2002 1200cc Harley Sportster. It has big valve heads, a Screamin' Eagle cam, EFI. It hauls balls but can't keep up with my brothers bike even though it is lighter.

My Dad's 1999 Harley Night Train, 95 Cubic inch single cam (last of the single cams). He had only had it for 2 days in this pic. The bars have been changed, pipes have been changed, it's been lowered 2 1/2 inches, rear seat has been changed etc.

All old school stuff, nothing now...too many drunken pancho's here in the Valley. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] a couple of these back in the 60's [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] one just like this, but set up for production racing. Very quick in the short twisties
[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] Based on the Bandito...
surprised a lot of people.

It was a 1400 cc Kawi motor with slipper clutch - magnacharger 90 blower - Hilborn mechanical fuel injection - Joe hunt Mag (which I could pull out and run on my VW) -- This picture was when I was first getting it running and had a 9" slick on it and couldn't get it to stick LOL -- ended up with a 12" slick on alcohol -- had a lot of help from 2 guys that worked at RC (Russ Collins) eng (He was the first person to do 200 in the quarter on a bike) -- They went on to make quite a name for themselves - Vance and Hines

Danny, the blue bike is a Rickman Metisse. Handmade in England, very pricey then and now. Popular in several frame sizes and available with numerous
engines from 100cc on up. Mine used a BSA 441 Victor motor with a Westlake upper end, taking it out to 500cc. A quick Google search will do a better job than
I can in describing the marque.

Was Jerry Magnuson involved with this project ?? (if i spell the first name correct) . I still own my Yammi XS1100 /1223 with lots of old school parts in it.. Barnes clutch, Andrews cams, Wiseco pistons. One day i will convert that baby to chain drive.

Jerry gave a lot of tech advice but my turbo guy and Jerry were very close friends so most of the communication was through him Allan Nimmo "Performance Techniques" (turbocharged.com) -- a lot of time was spent down at hilborn on their FI dyno too -- another guy who really helped get the initial dial was Joe "Goofy" Turner who has involved with Big Jim Dunn Funny Car operation and crew

All these bikes are bigger than I've ever owned. Lol. I've got a flavor for mini bikes. The movie Dumb and Dumber inspired me years ago. I had a mid '60s Bird 'Duck' bike i restored and sold to my ex girlfriend who gave it to her niece and nephew for Christmas, and then currently have a '60s or '70s era Toyoco mini bike that's awaiting restoration right now. The 2.0 liter VW engine is my first priority, though.
I'm all about cheap thrills.

Jerry was and is still my hero. I think he did his own superchargers back then. I was fortunate to see the tripple engined-Honda dragster from Russ Collins before he crashed it. THOSE WERE THE DAYS ALSO FOR SUPERBIKES. I stil watch the Yoshimura/Wess Cooly vids. from that time. Heavy Iron !!!! I remember Joe Turner from old speed magazines (if you could get them overhere). I think it was one of the guys from Hooker headers who worked for Russ Collins who invented the first 4-1 exhaust for bikes. Then left to start Hooker headers. Remember Big Bikes magazine ? That was the holy grail for me.

Wow, lots of cool old bikes. I have had my share over the years, allmost all dirt bikes. Newest 04 CRF450, oldest 1969 Penton 175. Coolest 1981 Maico 490, did the full resto on it. Had a Honda CB350 that was flat track style, fun on the street. Broke right wrist and no more dirt bikes.
