Rear suspention questions ???
«

Hi Guys,
After my gearbox breakdown(ring /pinion at Gary's picnic I have to solve a suspention issue.
When I launch, the car almost grinds on the floor and then bangs on the other way.
My actual setup
- original shokcs
- all urethane rubber mount
- Berg rubber mid-mount
- HD 29mm torsion bars
- original spring plates
- bus rubbers (not on the car at garys picnic)
My plans are :
- solid mounts allround
- harder shoks (red koni's ?)
- straps retainer
- weld a metal piece under the spingplate to avoid it to travel all the way back after the launch.
So all advice WELCOME
Cheers
Christofe

Hi Christofe.
Put on limit straps to avoid a bad positive camber, also get shocks with adjustable rebound-you want to limit the travel back up.Don't know how your engine and rpm's are at launch, but a softer clutch may be a thing to look at.

I agree on the limit straps. Are you using the bug on the street? I have solid mounts and they will be coming off in the winter.
On the back of the bug I now have the shocks off my racecar (betelgeuse) which launches well, they are called gas adjust. SSP sells them.
What size is your rear tyre?

Guys,
where can I buy those straps ?
Anyone having experience with the ACE clutch disc ?
I have a stage 2 with a 4 puk disc, any experience with the black magic ?
Any use of putting harder spring plates ?
