I came across a deal I just could not pass up! Scott's car turned out so bitchen that I began desiring one as soon as the body went back on the pan.

A neighbor of Scott's recently aproached him about a ghia that he wanted to sell and after several months of negotiation, I took possesion today. This thing is a cream puff!! Little ol' lady from pasadena and any other cliche you can come up with. It was picked up from a estate sale of a guy that had many nice cars in various state of completion. This car had been taken apart just short of body off and sprayed a shade of red that resembles Sarge's car, then some of the trim was replaced before the project ended. Unfortunately, the new owner placed it on the side of his house and let a EZ-UP shade be rubbed up and down both sides of the car everytime the wind blew. The pictures speak for the condition of the body.

My only problem is going to be making it look half as nice as Scott's!! Sad Sad

Thank you Scott for the great lead and the storage space!  Grin Grin

That is a VERY nice find, amazing condition!

I have 2cars in my garage, a 62 type 1 which lived all of it´s hard life in Sweden until I bought it in 2003, and a 66 type2 that I just imported from California february 2009. I have just recently finished the resto on my type 1, and it needed massive welding and bodywork. But the type2 still wears the original paint and has no rust, never welded/wrecked and it should be a very easy project.
Basically what I am trying to say is: YOU GUYS HAVE ALL THE NICE CARS   Wink

Seriously - I couldn´t believe how a 66 type 2 could be so dry and rustfree (better than expected), and I can see that the same goes for this Ghia.
Everybody wants a california car, and this find just proves why!

I´m jealous Grin

Can't anyone keep a secret around here?  Grin Grin

And yes Ratto, the front and back of the body get cut off next week while I'm waiting for the 5" body lift kit to be custom fabbed by Brintech. Anyone looking for a good clean ghia nose?  Grin Grin
