What size are you guys using on your engines? And more importantly: Are they available for purchase anywhere in different sizes? Or do you have to solder and drill your own?

Thanks, Johnny.

They are available in different sizes. It's been 205 years since I messed with them but I think they were available as .080 .100 & .120

I'm sure someone will catch any errors!  Wink

I soldered mine and drilled them to size.

What you really will notice when making them smaller is that throttle response at low rpm, will be a lot better (realy noticeable when cruising below 2000rpm and trying to increase speed a little). Well, at least thats my experience.

I have emailed a lot with Bud Hauge from redlind weber, and he has really helped me a lot with the understanding of the idle circuit on the 48´s. He was right about EVERYTHING he told me to do to my carbs. That guy knows his shit!

I have saved all the emails from him. If you wan´t a copy, send me a mail on rasmusthomzen@hotmail.com

Mail is sent to those that wanted the emails.

Quote, Bud Hauge:
"the air jets both main air and idle air have huge affects on two functions stringth of signal and entry timing and high rpm change

it is a balance between the low range band width and the over lap of the high range.

Example if you go to a 90 or 100 idle air the low range will have a stronger signal at initial responce but run out sooner on the top end a narrow band if you will. but more responsive. So with that you might have a need to bring the mains in sooner which means we might take the main air and shrink it to get main entry to come in sooner

i know I may be confusing this some but its something you learn to balance the over lap of two arches or bubbles."
