This month makes 25 years that I have owned my '66 Bug.  I bought it after going 10 months without a car and have put over 250K miles on it since buying it.  It has a bunch of wear and tear, but it has been my best friend for all of that time...

Almost 11 years for my '67, and about 3 1/2 for the GTV. I haven't driven the '67 in about 5-6 years though... man I miss that car!

It still is my one and only first aircooled vw, almost 8 years now...  Hope I never have to sell it for a dumb reason like moneyproblems or something like that...

I bought mine in 1995, sold it to my brother in 1999 and bought it back last year! So it's been in the family for 14 years but mine for 5 of those!

I own my oval since 11 years. I´ve bought it from my brother who finished the restauration that his best friend began but who unfortunately died in the early 90s. Embarrassed
When I got the car in the summer of 1998 it was painted two-tone, was lowered all around and sported 5.5" and 7" widened steel rims with low profile tires. Some months later - after working for 6 weeks in the nightshift in the Volkswagen factory as a student - a was able to buy what was my favorite wheels back then (beside Centerlines which unfortunately wouldn´t be legal in germany): fully polished fuchs (or alloys for you americans Wink). This is a pic of the car how it looked in 1999.
The second picture shows how it looks today...

I've had my '70 project for six years, come September.  Hard to believe it's been that long.  My '63 ragtop I've had for four years, still working on selling it.

10 years I think. It was stock as a rock when I bought it, right down to the crossply tyres.

The lady I bought it from told me it was called 'Alfie' and it liked chasing campers vans.

It's still called 'Alfie', it just chases Porsche's now  Grin

Cheers to the people that were smart enough to keep their cars for a long time. Wish I would've kept mine. Live and learn.

Owned this one for a year and a ½.

I bought my '67 in March of 2003.  Easily the smartest and best car purchase I have ever made.

Hauled it 13 hours from South Carolina to Pennsylvania with a Diesel Caddy.  What a trip.

I've had my '67 (my first car) since October of 1990. I have put over 90k on it and still drive it all the time. I bought my '63/'73 in November 2002 when it was all '73, sold it to my brother in January 2003, bought it back from him in summer 2004 after he wrecked it and we put the '63 body on, sold it back to him in winter 2004, and bought it back from him again in August 2006. I february 2007, my fiance and I bought a '74 Acapulco Thing.

The longest I`ve ever owned one car was for 5 years but I`ve owned at least 13 VW`s over the past 25 years. And 9 of those were daily drivers. Thats not counting the ex`s 63 15 window I built and my Wife`s 72 bug, 66 bug and 66 Kombi. And out of those years and cars I`ve only owned one non VW. That  was my 66 Nova wagon. I think I get bored with one and want something different and usually need to sell one to get the next.
