I have to admit to being a serial car buyer & seller...

 Sad

I've let too many good cars go. I've owned my current Oval for two years now, which is a long time for me. I think this one will be staying for  long time, as I always wanted an Oval and I always wanted a quick bug... I promised myself I wouldn't sell this one and its survived past the high-tide mark of 12 months, so it looks like the start of a long relationship...

I've owned my 66 sunroof since 1989 (20 yrs).  My race car since 2000.  And my dad purchased the oval in 1972 (dont know if that counts though) cause i've only had it for about 3 years. Grin

Great picture documenting the purchase, Javabug.

Thanks, Mark.  My camera batteries were dead when I got there, but luckily the seller had his camera and emailed me a couple pictures.  It would have fun to have some more shots from the trip home, like after climbing the Blue Mountain range with that rig...wasn't sure it was going to work out...

The 69 Ghia cab has been with me for 14 years and the 1303 cab for five weeks, neither of which are on the road  Embarrassed but at least I have an excuse with the Beetle!

Epic before & after shots, Jason. I suppose that we should have a thread like that. Maybe in this or the In Da Werkes, forum.

My current car has been garaged since june 87 -- I'm getting it ready to drive again.
I got it first in summer 1978 -- it was stolen in 81, rebuilt & drove from 82 - 87.  It
has had 14x5 1/2 alloys & 2110  --- and stock 1600 single port with american 5 spokes.
This time around it will have stock wheels until I get some BRM's or repop torkers.
So, all in all I've had my car 31 years !! My youngest son came home from his birth in
this car. Now at 26 -- he will learn how to drive stick in it !!!

Of the many aircooled VWs that's come and gone over the years, my 64 Karmann Ghia is the one that's been a stayer.

This little car has been with me since 2000, and I will definitely not part with it.

You jinxed Yourself into selling it didn't you Wink Cheesy

I have owned my present bay since Feb 08 Not Long,

But my 1776cc Engine is now almost 6 years Old has pushed me and my bay WELL into the 16's, it's covered well over 60,000 Miles, got me up the 1/4 mile probably on 100 passes or so, Oh and it's still on the same pushrod tubes, it's never been apart!
