Time to relive the old days of radio station KMET this Friday on 100.3 FM.  There have been a few "Fish Reports" on this week that have brought back fond memories of what was the best in radio back in the day. Cool Cool Grin

Yep, I was really into that station up until I first heard punk rock and new wave stuff on KROQ in 1978 and later on KNAC. Two great stations. But I now listen to 100.3 and have been meaning to post the KMET stuff. Thanks, Sarge! Still have a sticker or two left, unused.

Still have a WHOO-AA "disco sucks" bumper sticker kicking around somewhere.

I was throughly bummed when they changed the station / format back in the day.

Disco Sucks! HAHAHAHA! Yep, we used to put those on our skateboards. Really pissed off a lot of people, 'cause disco was so mainstream. They changed the format to The Wave or maybe they did, eventually. At any rate, that's the station, now. "Soft rock"... talk about your oxymorons.

Jim, I would say this is a fantastic topic for you!  With your Oval's plate it appears you know what they are talking about.  HA!

I remember after DKK rallies in the early days we would meet back at Perry's Pizza and the room split in half, one side yelling Whoo-Yah louder than the other.  For like hours and hours?Huh?  Too funny.

And if I am not mistaken, at the same time in space did'nt they all used to yell at the same events,.... Tastes Great......... Less Filling...

Cant belive Jims plate and the fact you guys even HAVE this stuff.  I was SO very young..... waa waa

All this talk about KMET, and no ones mentioned "the Beamer". B Mitchell Reed, an icon in the LA fm scene. Or the other great early FM stations that warped our brains like KPFK, KTBT, and the short lived KLSD in Tustin.
How about Brother John? with the first nationally syndicated FM rock broadcast channel in LA, on KABC/KLOS.
OK, let's go back further. Who can forget Wolfman Jack??
