Took a drive out to Fontana this morning with Carlos.  The weather was hot and very humid, the attendance pretty slim.  Drank a few brews and sat in the shade with Scott Bakken and his wife, Betty who came out to drive her new Powder Puff car.  Scott managed an 11.71 out of his rig in the heat.... most folks were four tenths off with the weather being the way it was.  Nice to see Lyle ( formerly of Rancho Performance in Cucamonga) back at it after a thirteen year absence from the hobby.  Lyle bought a well traveled '67 sedan from Dave Greiner's brother, stuffed some horsepower under the deck lid, and ran some nice mid 12 second passes off the trailer.  A few pics before heading home for the couch and some air conditioning..... Very cool, Sarge. My hat's off to you guys for braving the heat. I wanted to go... but like last year, I opted out. I'm spoiled and can't deal with the Inland Empire during the the hot months.

Thank you for the report and pictures.

Sarge, boy oh boy what a testament to what an amazing wife you've got there brother!  I was surprised to see you there today although it was from afar and never got to talk with ya in person. Happy 40th Sarge!!  I talked with the Cape for a bit but you were not around. It was a fun day but boy was it hot. Thanks for the shots and see ya soon.

Pat ran a 9.91 in unlimited street trim -- but didn't like the way the front end of the Fiat hung in the air -- put the sissy sticks on it and ran in the 9.3's

My pleasure!  You've got to give Scott a load of credit... hard enough getting your own shit to run in the heat, let alone getting one's wife down the track (especially when it was her very first time)! Cool
