Hello! First post but I've been lurking for a while.

Thought I'd post some pics of an Oval I bought about two years ago. It's been off the road since 76/77. Started working on it June this year, got it MOTd OK and have been driving it for a month now. Originally planned to lower the front, but I don't know at the moment. Started thinking about leaving it stock and go for something like 5.60x15 front and some wide old ones in the rear.

Thanks!
It's been resprayed at some time but apart from that more or less untouched.
Got a lowered beam ready. Think I must at least see how it looks with it.

This season is over for me, the car's in storage and I'll most likely have more time for forums.

I've been driving it all summer and last month I finally had the time to change to the lowered beam.

I think it needs to sit about 20mm lower in the rear.

The oval on the left belongs to another member of our garage "Der Schweinhaus".

Looks like the paint is quite oxidised - I bet it would polish up quite nicely, something like Ian Clarkes old split. Nice!

It's very likely. I'll be driving it as much as I can.
What about you; anything planned to hit the streets next summer?

It's really oxidised and the primer has worn through in places.
Don't know the Ian Clarke split but I'll check it out.

It's been a while since I've been on here.  Embarrassed
Too much to do and too little time have made me realize that I have too many projects. I'm thinking about letting this oval go, but I'm having mixed feelings about it.
It runs great, there's no work needed as I see it, so the clever thing would be to store it for a couple of years, but it somehow takes away the motivation to finish the others.

Trip to SCC 2011, non-stop rain for 500 kms.

With the new rear tires, 205/70x15.

On the old tires, 165x15.

Old pics, from 2009 I think.

WTF, don't sell that car! We need something to go in to SCC next year...  Wink
What are you going to focus on now?

I have a couple of projects that I need to finish too. Maybe my car is ready for Norway next year...

Thanks Kev!

@ Bugster; why don't you buy it and we can continue the tradition?  Wink
Will focus on getting the parts needed for the engine and possibly make something out of the 59. The grey one is almost ready to roll.

Sounds like you have been busy with the grey one then...!
I need to focus on my red one to get one car ready for Norway next year.
It would be nice to buy your car, but first off all I can afford it  Wink and second I don't have the time needed for it.

I think buying it would be the perfect solution. No work needed besides changing the 30hp for your 2332 and gearbox and then you're done!  Smiley
Need to get started as well. Not very much done on the grey one, no paint yet. But back with the gas tank, engine and frontseats, then it's driveable.

Now it's gone. Went with the transport yesterday. Have fun with it Paul!
Not an easy decision letting it go, but on the plus side I might get started on this.
