Welcome to The Lounge, Neil68. Really like your car. Great color, matching fender beading, and non-chrome Spintstars. Good stuff.
The light blue car with the Mahle wheels looks nice, as well. Dig the VW1300 S badge on the yellow car. Very cool.
Carry on.

Right there with you, Mark!!
Funny that you would be calling my attention to this car when the photo above it is a late model car in your color scheme!
That's gotta be a '69. The antenna looks much better on the windshield post.

It's different and I like it.
Yeah, Dan... the a-pillar mount was factory from '67 forward.

My car is sans antenna on a-pillar and there's no evidence of bodywork there. Might be different for Verts.

I didn't like the tacky 2331 cc aftermarket badges that were available, so I made my own using a 1300 badge (from a '66 Canadian Beetle...the only year we had the 1300 cc engine) and #2 from a Canadian 412 badge

Agreed. Hence why I dug your usage of factory numbers. Nicely done.

Was an aerial a special order? I know my '70 vert shell has the aerial hole in the a-pillar, but the '67-built '68-model year car that I had a spare windscreen frame from hadn't got one as far as I can tell, although it was pretty baddly rotted in that area!

Keep in mind, that in most countries (if not, all), radios and aerials didn't exist on the cars as they left the factory. It's always been my understanding that the dealers had to install those items. If that be the case, then it would very well explain why the aerial styles weren't very consistent.
