Looks like a SOOOOOPER BEETLE even Yep, noticed that too. The front valance (actually, a more proper term than apron) looks great without the vents below the bumper. Is that a European spec. thing? Never seen that in the States. |

It was common to European and Canadian spec cars. The louvers were there because that's where the a/c condenser was dealer installed... a/c being more common in the States.

Cool.
Note to self: need to see '73 Super Beetle (last year in this country with normal bumpers) done up as a Cal Looker. Complete with earlier two vent decklid, Fuchs five or four spoke forged wheels, big street engine, and '80s Porsche 911 steering wheel. Of course, the above mentioned front valance/apron would be fitted. That would make for one nice looking late model.
Never cared for those lower vents.
