I've been busy lately and have had a stack of un-read VW mags start to pile up. First one I crack open Sept '09 issue of Hot VW's. On page 52 there is a shot of DKK Fred and a bunch of other DKK drop-outs from the last Bug-in [34, Cali style]. I then  crack open the Summer '09 issue of VolksWorld, Well much to my surprise I spot Mark K's [DKK Fred] BRM clad Zenith blue '67 tucked up in the top right hand corner on page 43. Damn,  Mark, as well as my old club [DKK] even gets a shout out in the captions below. So that's two times in the last couple hours in two different magazines. I'm thinkin, cool, that boy is getting around!

But wait, it didn't end there, not even close. I then pick up the July issue of Ultra VW and what do I see, on page 42/43 a two page advert for a subscription for Ultra VW [although they forgot to put their logo there]. Big as life, DKK Fred's '67 is on display for all the world to drool over. I'm thinkin Fred must know somebody, but wait, the story doesn't end there, it gets worse. I flip through a few more pages and on pages 68 and 69 of the same issue of Ultra VW I see Mark's [DKK Fred], car no less than three more times. And yet another one with a caption!

What gives Mark? This can't be a coincidence. You just haven't been in the right place at the right time, some seedy back room dealings must have been going on. Has money been exchanged, or even worse, bodily fluids??? What's the deal? Inquisitive minds would like to know!!!

Regardless of your secrets, congrats on the exposure. It was good to see you as well as many of my other DKK brethren at the Classic in June. I hope it isn’t another 25 years before I see you all again. It was also a pleasure to finally meet folks like Keith Seume, Stephan Szantai, and a few other “across the pond” volks.

I will definitely be putting the Classic on my calendar next year

HUH? Bodily fluids? Secretions? Eww! Naw... nothing of the sort, Jeffrey. But just to entertain your theory, it could have all stemmed from this, yes?

It was great finally seeing you again, as well. Way too much time in between visits. Hopefully, we'll all be united at another VW gathering very soon. I still haven't seen the VolksWorld picture yet, Jeffrey. Looking forward to it.

Thank you, everybody for the kind words and to the magazines, too. It's all very appreciated.
