Its nothing serious, no stitches needed, they just taped the tip of my nose & couple of cuts on my chin.
Cracking bruises though!

After checking it all over the shell was perfect! Never been welded or repaired! Nice!

Next to come was a rolling chassis. Thanks to Rodry (At the time from Twickenham Aircoolers, dont know if he still is) we did a little deal and he towed me a chassis home from one of the shows. Chassis was very solid and wide 5! Sweet! The car sat like that for a while. But thanks to friends Steve Inglis & his bro Tish we all got the bug real bad and started work stripping and building our cars. His is a 64? (Sorry if Im wrong Steve) Ausi import and VolksWorld cover car! Lucky GIT!!!! Haha. After many many dirty evenings and weekends we stripped all the gunk off the chassis & components an bare metaled both cars and laid on some paint thanks to Angus. Steves is the bug in the for ground.

And some more shots of the bugs on my front lawn! I love this shot!!  Grin

Looking good James!  Glad the car's finally getting amove on  Tongue

I do hope it is worth me getting stopped by the old Bill when I towed that chassis back  Wink

By the way - I think the chassis is South African, hence the weird mix of early and late stuff.....

The 'Street' box I had intended to use on this bug was replaced with this Pro Comp unit. The street box is now in my 56.

Not too much progress, but then that because Ive been sorting out my 56.

Found these gauges in my shed, believe they are porsche? Anyone know if they are worth cleaning up? Or are they worthless?

Hey Zach,

Thanks for the post, is that a good thing? Are they worth restoring? Or not worth it?

If you like them, then they are worth it Wink They aren't exactly rare, though. Check out AssHull's '67 Project to see what we did with a mix of 911, 912, and 914 gauges Wink

Thanks bud!

Yes, I do like the matt original paint, warts and all. Gives it a bit of character.

One day I might give it a fresh coat? Will see how it goes, as long as the rust is kept at bay  Wink

Progress on the 54!!! Wahoo!! Cheesy

You can see the surface rust on the doors in these prevous pics.

Time to remove that!!

Was a mucky job getting the filler off!

Decklid looks sweet!

Body mount moved to correct position. This was already moved once to line up with the later chassis, but as Ive now sourced an earlier chassis it has to be move back  Roll Eyes

Ready for panel beater and primer! Wink

Off on Holiday for a bit now, fingerscrossed I can start fitting up panels when I get back, install the front end and get the shell rolling! That would be awesome!!
